decent world building with lacklustre character development. on one hand honest about and on the other dismissive of the female experience. ended pretty anticlimactically, but much like rennie, i was in too deep when i'd realized i should leave this island.

this time around i was less interested in the somewhat repetitive sequences of events. but the themes of unavoidable hunger, helping one another, persisting on your journey are reinforced by exactly that.
