Wow, wow, wow. Absolutely amazing.

The twist at the end was very shocking to me.

I loved all the Mistborn easter eggs throughout the story.

Aaaad I love Hoid so much. He is AMAZING. I AM SO EXCITED FOR HIS BACKSTORY.

TW: DEATH IRL / WAY TOO MUCH INFORMATION ABOUT MY PERSONAL LIFE

My grandpa was at the hospital last Wednesday. He died at 3:00 a.m. on Thursday. I was home when it all happened. My mom came home an hour later and was talking on the phone with my uncle telling him what happened. I was in my bedroom reading the chapters were Bella gives birth and her death and transformation. Those chapters are gory and dark and twisted. And I was reading them as my mom was outside my bedroom explaining how my grandpa died. It was... an experience, to say the least. A very fucked up one.

Anyways, this is the book where people suddenly stopped acting like themselves.
Bella never wanted children, now she loves her fetus. Jacob hated Edward, now he's on his side.

I particularly loved how Rosalie was so protective and was 100% on Bella's side.

And I'm glad things didn't go down like in the movie.
I hate reading battle scenes. They're always boring. So it's great that there wasn't a battle here.

Well... This entire book was annoying and boring.

Fist of all, Jacob was pathetic, disrespectful and a piece of shit. I cannot stand him. I liked him in the previous book, but in this one he was SO ANNOYING AND EMBARRASING. I wish he died like he said he was going to.

Secondly, all Bella and Edward did was have multiple arguments. Where's the romance? How am I supposed to believe that she's deeply in love with him if all she does is start arguments with him over EVERYTHING. It's so annoying. Every page would go like this:

Bella: No, Edward, I don't want to do this.
Edward: Why?
Bella: Ugh, just forget it. I'm tired.
Edward: No, I want to know what's upsetting you.
Bella: I looked into his eyes and I started feeling butterflies. He is so beautiful. I want him and only him. I cannot live without him
Bella: UGH!!!!!!!!!!! I DON'T WANT TO MARRY YOU AND I DON'T WANT TO DO THIS AND THAT AND LEAVE ME ALONE. He's so perfect... UGH, YOU'RE SUCH A JERK.

Just because she's thinking that he's beautiful and her body reacts to him, doesn't mean that she's really in love. That's just lust.

And Bella was so horny the entire book and that was EXTREMELY annoying, too. Just calm down, fucking hell. No one is that desperate. You disgust me.

Also, the whole lore and backstory of Jack's pack was BORING. I don't give two flying fucks about it. I don't care, I don't care, I don't care. It's sooooooooooo boring.

Another boring aspect was Jasper's backstory. BEEEEEEEEGHHHHHHHHHH (that's the sound of me vomiting). I didn't care.

The whole fight between Victoria, the newborns, the Volturi, the Cullens and the werewolves? Don't ask me anything about it because I skimmed through it. IT WAS; YES, YOU GUESSES IT: BORING!!!!!!!!!!!!

The only redeeming qualities this book had were Edward and Alice. I do like them both and I am always on Edward's side. I'm probably in the wrong here, but Edward is way better than Bella and she doesn't deserve him and I will unapologetically defend my point of view until the end of time. Edward rocks, Bella sucks.

This book was also really easy to read, even though there were so many BORING parts, I finished quickly.

20/02/2024 Reread:

Just as good as the first time I read it. Even better. I noticed so many things that I didn't before. I love Mistborn.

5/02/2023 Original review:

This entire book was so epic.

I love the new characters. They're so awesome and work amazingly together. Their banter was so funny.

The setting was great. It's like a Sherlockian steam punk world. I love it so much.

The story was full of action and intrigue. Definitely an addictive page-turner.

I loved all the small references to the previous trilogy and how the lore was even more expanded. We have new terms for different types of allomancy, new metals, new powers. It was so satisfying to learn about it.
I DON'T KNOW WHO IRONEYES IS??? I FEEL STUPID. WHO IS HE??? IS IT KELSIER??? BUT HE'S NOT CORPOREAL. IS IT MARSH? I DON'T REMEBER IF HE DIED. I THINK HE DID. AND EVEN IF HE DIDN'T, HE'S NOT IMMORTAL. WHO IS IRONEYES???? I FEEL LIKE I SHOULD KNOW... I will finish the trilogy, and if I still don't know who he is by the end of it, I will look it up. I FEEL SO FRUSTRATED

EDIT:

OH IM SO STUPID. IRONEYES IS SPOOK!!!

20/02/2024 UPDATE: I AM THE DUMBEST PERSON ON PLANET EARTH. I DESERVE TO BE TORTURED! MARSH IS IRONEYES. HOLY CRAP. WHY DID IT TAKE ME SO LONG TO REALISE?

I'm excited to continue this trilogy and read more about my beloved Wax, Wayne and Marasi.
