I am very confused by this book. I'm not exactly sure what happened or why it was recommended as a thriller/crime novel.

It felt very fetish-y, not because it is about the fetish and kink lifestyle but because it felt like it was written as a fetish. It fetishized the gay couple: they were gay, they were kinky, they were fetishists.

Elevation was very good. The second story Laurie took me by surprise. It's about a widower who receives a dog and they beginning of their life together. Its fault lies in the fact that it's just a very short story and seems to end rather abruptly.

Such a very good story for middle-grades. A bit intense at times but done well with hope and understanding.

Did not finish book. Stopped at 27%.
I'm going to try reading it but I can't listen to the audiobook. It has taken me 10 days to get 4 hours into the book listening on 3x speed and I keep losing interest.

Despite the very difficult topic in this one it is a good read.

Even knowing a lot of the story it is awful to hear it in her own words.
