Really great romance and a trope I have hoped for but never read so far. Fleshed out adult characters with more going on than just falling in love but also feels like real love. And a great critique of folks who disdain romance books and HEAs in the discussion too.

I wanted a fast romance and got it plus a touch of monster love, working through mental health and grief from the characters! I love when romance goes deeper than just fell in love, the end.

A great reread, just going to miss Ralph Cosham's voice when he finishes up his service to the character.

I haven't reread this fully since 2008 but it's still worth it! Glad I finally got to reread it!

Impressive novella for telling a good adult story at a 3rd grade inclusive reading level. Obviously less complex than her usual stories but still hard work to use less words and simpler verbiage to still tell a good story that captures anyone.

Probably one of the most complex Gamache stories with so many time jumps and reflection and deep emotion. An incredible reread.

What IS this book? Read on vacation, kept guessing where it would go next and it never did but also just confused me the whole time. A friend said she was given so many copies of the book when she graduated high school and I just don't get it!
