This books is saying 1 thing in a ton of different ways. I’m a bit sceptical about motivational self-help books as they often feel artificially inspired or tend to mull things over beating around the bush. 

While this book also seemed a bit too watery in the essence, I did find some interesting advice. Mostly it can be described as prioritising your todos and doing the most important thing first.

Автор рекомендует читать во время йоги, во время еды, в очередях, в туалете и даже во время пауз в работе компьютера… Сами практические рекомендации по скорочтению на мой взгляд описаны недостаточно понятно; в приложенных таблицах отсутствуют слова для теста Струпа, было бы удобнее, если бы они повторялись на каждой неделе. Есть интересные практики, но книга своих денег не стоит

A brilliant mystical thriller that actually made my blood run cold. It’s a story about grief, coping with loss - and the consequences of being incapable of doing so. With a sprinkle of ancient magic and legends, and set in a small village, “The Winter People” creates an eerie atmosphere of an inbetween world where everything has a price. I felt like the book was filled with an ominous and dark feeling of dread. 

I really enjoyed Jennifer’s writing, she’s a masterful storyteller who managed to intertwine the past with the present. Diary entries make you feel like you’re actually taking part in the investigation.

I’d say it’s a perfect choice for cold winter nights, but even in August I couldn’t put it down and my last reading session ended at 2am 🫠

1) bland writing which simply states the characters actions 
2) Leon and Tiffy could’ve been portrayed with depth but I didn’t really care about them 
3) how come everything is about sex here 

В данной работе Юлия Пирумова рассматривает путь становления женской идентичности через сказочные метафоры. Маленькой девочке вручают красную шапочку и отправляют в лес, где та встречает своего Волка. Иначе говоря, девочка отправляется во взрослую жизнь, проходя различные этапы инициации, узнавая себя. Она принимает свои первые самостоятельные решения, ранится, разочаровывается - в хорошем смысле - и просто проходит свой путь. 

Книга очень терапевтична, а мне, как  женщине, дала ощущение опоры в том, какая я. А ещё помогла снизить уровень самокритики и принять свои ошибки прошлого как опыт. У меня появилось ощущение принятия себя как женщины, этой части своей идентичности. 

Я бы рекомендовала эту книгу всем девушкам и женщинам, потому что в ней рассматриваются различные отрезки пути, и каждый найдёт себя где-то на этой дороге.

‘The Fountain Overtlows’ is a classic I’ve never heard of before it’s been released in my native tongue. I saw this book in a bookstore while I was on vacation and its wonderfully gracious cover caught my eye. I’d say, the cover matches the plot perfectly. You won’t find much dynamics here, but the beauty of this story is in the details. Because music is one of the main themes of the story, this book is likely to appeal to readers who know something about it or play an instrument. 

Already ordered the second book 🙏

It was a quick read in between other, more interesting books. Half of the book is the summaries of the literature pieces in question, and not all of them are accurate. Perhaps, the authors should’ve finished the books they’re talking about. 

All in all, 3 stars as it was a quick entertaining read, but the psychological analysis is rather lacking in depth. 

It’s been a while since I read the first book and watched the movie, so coming back to Lou was like meeting an old friend. I think this part of the story portrays grief so well, and the healing process that comes with that. Sometimes it’s hard to move on, but time will pass anyway. Day by day. 
I think Lou will manage to get her spark back after all 💛

Очень приятный и забавный слог у автора, книга читается очень легко. Сразу продолжать серию я не буду, чтобы не переборщить с этим жанром. Но было и правда смешно, остроумно, и интересно! 

Думаю, мне бы понравилось больше, если бы прочитала ее в более раннем возрасте; сам сюжет довольно банален, книга больше вытянула за счет слога и живого языка 

‘Pieces of her’ is an excellent psychological thriller following the lives of Andrea and her mother. To say the least, this book turned out to be dark but had me unable to stop reading. 

It is a story of being caught in between the narcissistic abuse and the things love makes us do. 

I think it’s been so vividly written that I could totally understand how

Jane could still feel the love towards Nick despite everything he was

. Even though as a reader I couldn’t feel any sympathy for him. That says a lot about the masterful work of the author and her understanding of the nature of this abusive relationship. 

Highly recommend if you’re looking for a tense psychological thriller 🙌
