idk man i'll eat up anything ali writes! it's not a perfect book for me or anything but i had a good time. i hope she writes more paranormal because it really feels like she had fun with this story.

The bones of the story were interesting, but the layers of so many POVs and info dumps made it less enjoyable. I usually like multiple POVs but it jumped so often for scenes that didn't really matter at the moment that it felt disjointed. So, I ended up not caring for most of the characters. Characters kept making choices that didn't make sense to the point it felt like it was added in there for conflict to make the story longer? More time really should have been spent on editing plot and the text itself. ranting now. it felt like all of the characters just fell into killing the old leaders? which could have been cool if it was actually all planned as a coup! but no. our band of heroes just accidentally took over every faction of their world simultaneously. UGH. also, no way there isn't another war after bryce declaring a democracy for the fae lmao especially once the antidote goes out to everyone which kind of feels like synth again

a more realistic romance where things do not work out the way you want them to. the characters were frustrating and i just wanted to shake them until they faced their feelings. i did find their interactions funny in their initial meetings and appreciate the personal journeys needed to get to their romantic relationship, but the story overall didn't really work for me.

I loved Divine Rivals and this was highly anticipated for me! I wish we had more time with Iris and Roman together on page, because their relationship is the main pull of the story for me.
