Poorly referenced, lacks any critique of capitalism which is odd considering its focus on the pharmaceutical industry. Completely neglects the phenomenology of those that experience their mental illness as ‘real’ and view psychiatric treatment as effective. Not convincing in its claims that learning disabilities and autism are a fabrication and simply the result of neglect. However this offers a good explanation of the harms of psychiatry, from an ‘insider’ perspective.

Did not finish book.
Not a very nuanced reading of the Quran. Very traditional, stating that women are inferior to men. I’m looking for a more flexible feminist reading.
