Rise Sister Rise: A Guide to Unleashing the Wise, Wild Woman Within by Rebecca Campbell
0.25
So terrible I’m *this* close to getting rid of every single oracle deck I mistakenly got by this woman…honestly.
So goddamn trite, basic, useless…Megan Fox could tell you this, and I bet she’s read this book, or wants to.
It’s like…let’s eat men, but let’s not say we want to eat men? With the half-assed disclaimers and single minded focus on only *female* white readers, no consideration for non-binary or male people beyond the aforementioned half-assery, appropriating so so much with nary a notice, from Kali to Baba Yaga, to Lemuria, just…ugh. Bitch should have stayed in her lane.
Didn’t help that she mentioned sister rapist Lena Dunham (I wanted to replace it with Dumber, but worried not everyone would get it) and pro-genocide loon Amy Schumer (officially changed to Shoo-off), to mention only a few.
This is capitalistic boss babe, we care about the earth but won’t give up anything for it…trash self-help is the genre, if by that we mean helping this bitch get rich with all the fucking excessive mentions of her hashtags and website using the stupid name of this book…fr, someone better get me shrooms or ayahuasca after all this brainwashing…need to go on a cleanse, I swear. Or a lobotomy via psychedelics.
I wish I hadn’t wasted my time with this, and am writing this review in the hopes that you won’t, either. Nearly anything you do instead will do you better. Also, ignore the existence of her oracle decks. I will be chucking mine in the trash, thankfully bought the “fake” versions so she got not a penny of my money and shhhh…I also did not pay for this book, thank Satan. Or Annie’s, if you catch my drift. Done with rant, and this book. Again; thank Satan and myself.

Tarantula by Bob Dylan

Sorry to this dud’s fans, but what the fuck was this?
Did he write it at seventeen trying to be Bukowski, who’s not all that writing-wise himself? (Also pardon me if Bukowski came after Dylan - I wouldn’t know).
PS: dud was not a typo; I was gonna write dude but thought a bit more about it first.
Having read Chronicles as well, I see little to no appeal in Bob Dylan. And am confused as to why he’s getting a biopic (the only reason I’m reading his books and hesitantly considering giving his music a whirl though probably won’t - have suffered enough of him.
