Well I should have probably waited to read this series until it was all published. I’m really enjoying the adventures of Kieran. It’s lighthearted with an undertone of seriousness because of him evaluating his behavioural choices up to this point in his life and him pondering his relationship.

So much fun to ride along for his seggsual liberation, remembering what he has fantasised about throughout his life and finding out what really turns his crank.

These novellas have been SPICY.

WHY is Shiloh like he is all the time? I get people being damaged, having mental health issues, fluctuating meds etc. but this guy is abrasive like a chainsaw.

At about 55% I started to feel like the story was dragging. It felt like the author was trying to write a spicy book, but the characters are just getting nekked and kissing. The story is just as important as the physical intimacy the MCs feel. I didn't really feel like the +20page touching scenes needed to be what they were. Personally, I would have been super happy with less focus on the MCs physical intimacy and more exploring the mental connection that they had beyond their historical connection.

This book punched me right in the feels and did not give up.

Apparently I was looking for a hurt/comfort ear read…I got what I was looking for.

Dislike to love
Queer Awakening
Partner of a no longer alive sibling (…very off-limits)

JESUS after a string of happy books, I picked this?!

The tearing up started at the 1hr mark and had me on the verge of sobbing the WHOLE thing. It was tremendously embarrassing at the gym. I was the girl hobbling on the treadmill or pushing herself on the exercise bike while holding back emotional sobs, not the ones of exertion the gym welcomes.

So SO much hurt and comfort.

I’m not even sure I can articulate my emotions. I loved the love so hard, and my heart broke at the hurt.

I really like this book. It was my favourite between the first and second in this series. It ticked a lot of my boxes.

Lex and Theo find relief from their hatred of each other by griping about their issues to anonymous buddies met on a dating app. Shockingly they are each other’s buddies 🤫

I am a massive fan of anon/unknown messaging (email, text, Post-it). It will instantly make me want to keep reading and this book was good enough to over come the narration (much like the audio for the first book…it’s not good).

I've really like this series and am really excited about the upcoming third book, while I love to listen to a book (which I did for both the first and second in this series). I will likely brain read the third.

The Narration - 😬 1.5 speed felt normal paced. I had a difficult time differentiating the characters because the narrator used the same voice/inflection for both MC's.
The audiobook edition has repeated lines. The editing felt like it was a little bit of a mess.

Loved the story. Wish I had brain read it.

Wow, Rhys is ready to get back on the horse after breaking up with his baby momma. The moment he sees Cole he's all over it, essentially dying of thirst. Cole is getting over some big life changes of his own and is learning how to make life work. Between dates that are confused as work calls, being stealth nerdy and Cole falling for Rhys as hard as Rhys is for him, this book was ultra quick and a total pleasure to read.

Light k!ink in the last 1/3 of the book. Cole is bossy and Rhys is super into it.

The Narration - 😬 1.5 speed felt normal paced with intermittent chipmunk. I had a difficult time differentiating the characters because the narrator used the same voice/inflection for both MC's.
The audiobook edition has loads of repeated lines. Last line of the book repeated 3x. The editing was a little bit of a mess.

Erotic novella
Spice starts at 77%…it’s 40 pages

Kieran and Lance have been married almost 20 years. Lance is still madly in love but says due to neglect he’s cheated, “It was once, and you know the worst part? The entire time, I wanted it to be you—“.

He thinks Kieran needs a reboot to desire him and has booked him a week on a gay cruise. I have a sneaky suspicion Lance may turn up at some point in future books. It was hinted at in this one, this has been planned for quite for time. This trip has been last minute for Kieran, but the other men on the cruise needed to book their ticket a year in advance.

Fun introduction setting up future books, I have no idea if they will be full length or short. I have a preference for standalone books, but 100% will be checking out the next in this series.

Graphic novels and manga aren't usually what I reach for. I really enjoyed the story. I wanted to follow along the main protagonists journey to find out more about themselves, asexuality and romance as a whole.

I thought that the story was perfect for being told in this method.

Fun
Fast
Monster 🍆 x 2

Essentially one scene where our heroine gets wet in more ways than one. She’s cared for and split open (metaphorically…and I imagine physically 😬) by two hunky Minotaurs that fall as hard and fast as she does (…about the time it takes to fit two bull 🍆’s into a human woman).

It’s only 30 pages but set everything up and packs a punch perfectly. Pretty massive step up for me from just finishing a book with make-out and grinding scenes that were in the 20 page range.

But long story short, this novella was excellent and 🥵

Owen is a total care taker daddy. Definitely book boyfriend material. Be still my heart. He calls Mason “Petal” and it is foot kicking, skin tingling, goodness. I. LOVED. IT.

This book was FAR spicier than the first book. To be perfectly honest, I wasn't expecting it. I was pretty content with a low spice read, but this brought it.

The narration is excellent, Simon Goldhill was exceptional, well paced and I want him to read to me all day. He voiced each character individually and made it easy to keep track of who was talking to who.

Reread: As good as I remember

Toys
Poly - in an ENM way
K!nk
Greg is 31 and Chris is younger but we don't learn his age in this volume.

Read these book years ago on Wattpad, maybe in 2018? This was one of the first MM books I ever read, I wanted to go back and see if it still held up to my memory. Volume 1 is books 1 (Chris POV) / 2 (Greg POV). These books are a great example of how sites like AO3 and Wattpad can have some pretty spectacular content (as if loads of readers didn’t already know that…🙄)

In this first volume it never says what Chris does! He does corporate lectures...but about what and why?!

This book is literally just relationship/character development and spice. The whole book focuses on Chris and Greg’s relationship. Tbh I don’t hate it. It’s interesting knowing what’s coming down the pipe (there are loads of these books - 8 two part books) and it not being told to the reader yet.

At 76% - more and more of this series is coming back to me. Because the plot is literally about Chris and Greg’s relationship, spice is woven in and even Greg having k!nky seggs with someone else furthers the story. The introduction of Alex to the story is okay, feels a little abrupt but I think that’s a Greg thing, not the mechanics of the book. It definitely reads like there will be drama or something that keeps this a long term duo and does not have a full time poly arc.

There is some serious DubCon - doctor patient hanky panky. There is also some miscommunication which in a BDSM relationship seems both tough and dangerous.

**While I hate cliffhangers I was left wanting more. It’s pretty annoying I have a few other things to read before moving on to Vol. 2.
