Harrowing account, well written and thoroughly researched. Don't think I'll ever forget what happened to John Duck.

Majority of the book is wondering whether shipment is in the van, then I realised what it probably was, and I was right. Violent and creepy.

Another "lost orphan caught up in danger goes on road trip with surly adventurers" tale. Kinda His Dark Materials mixed up with The Witcher. Got better as it developed.

Enjoyed the alternative angle on this double agent killing eve style thriller. Convoluted but easy to read, definitely ott towards the last third!

Slow burn, creepy, but rounded characters and compelling plot crumbs scattered to collect.

Written vaguely and inconsistently, the importance of things is placed by the reader, but I didn't really care as there is so little detail about how characters felt or what they thought that everything seemed hollow when meant to be harrowing. And the, 'surprise'? towards the end was pathetic.
