Intense brutal and fierce. Despair, twists, betrayal and cleverness all the way through.

It's a lot of words, and it jumps about chronologically which I found difficult to keep track of in a book about prehistoric earth.

Loved it. Stand by Me into the Dark Tower, with the bestest doggo along the way. Good characters, dark places and plot, scary monsters. Loved it

Interesting, thorough, and oh so infuriating. Lots of stuff on how things don't work and are complicated. Not a lot of how anything does actually get done. Bloody hate the Tories.

The terrible twitteresque teen speak reduces the content of this book and makes it unbearable, even to dip in and out of.

Running Man x Battle Royale x Hunger Games.
Powerful women characters and chilling non fiction footnotes create a memorable book, however it's dark and gory and full of glossed over spaces.

The tension and darkness really ramp up in this book. 1st third is slow, the end is really fast paced and dark. Can't wait it to read the next one!

Didn't enjoy the short choppy writing style. Found it hard to follow for the first 2/3s, kept jumping between place time and characters. Felt dismal and pointless the while way through, and the main Fraud case is dull and clumsily used to create a background. Two pages about feminism, and a rehash of how terrible enslaved people were treated and the small pockets here that broke through most peoples ambivalence about it.
