A quiet, humorous, fantasy story set after the bloodshed and adventuring is done. Borrowing from Pratchett, World of Warcraft and Joe Abercrombie, its a light holiday lovestory for fantasy fans. Really enjoyed every line.

Very well written, brimming with passion and knowledge. Quite a lot of statistics used to make or back up points. Thoroughly researched, very up to date and interesting.

Entertaining, a little confusing. Would read better if the 1st book is fresh in your mind alots returning characters and plot points. Still good.

Nice all round look at different aspects of Corvid life. Nothing independent.

Bold and beautiful. About language and power and history, and friendship.

Just felt overly dramatic and not terribly well written. Interesting look into how some institutions operate.

Probably only going to enjoy this if you like horror films. Then you'll love it. For me it just doesn't quite work though.

Decided to finish it only so I've 'read a Grisham'. Not my cup of tea at all. Terrible female characters. Not even characters, just 2d stereotypes with no speaking parts. Racist undercurrent. Socially judgemental. Very Conservative straight white guy stuff. No action, no drama, didn't care about the characters. Gave it a star as the scene was set believably.

Bit flat compared to thr others by Hendrix. Well written and uncomfortable in parts, frustrating characters (purposefully) and patches where not much is happening, really.
