Takes the readers through a day in baby's life, including meals, playtime, outings, and bedtime. Family relationships and interactions play a big role and there is lots to relate to in the story and pictures that would be familiar to a baby (6 months to 2 years?) such as going to a playground and library and getting kisses from Mom, Dad, and sister.
It lost one star because my baby just didn't find it that engaging, but perhaps because he's still too young for it. The second lost star is because the librarian is called "the lady" (why not use her title?) and because I would have liked to see some reference to breastfeeding (the baby is given milk several times in the story, but this is always illustrated with a bottle, despite bottles not being mentioned in the text).

I loved this book. I'm only marking one star off because I feel like the text needs more rhythm or rhyme to fully engage a young listener, but the simple story of a baby's day out with Daddy is wonderful.

A busy day in the life of a baby! It was a little to wrong to read to a baby. Overall it was good, though, and I really liked the fact that they went to the library!

Illustrations are decent. The story is lacking a lot.

This is a really hard book to rate. I absolutely love the illustrations and the story itself (following baby's day), but the delivery/wording of the text was...not my favorite. I was okay with it at first, but it got old by the middle. ("Here is the baby. He looks for that moon. And here is the baby. He wants to see more. But here is a baby who's starting to fuss. And here is a baby who's rubbing his eyes.") I still plan to read it again to my baby when she gets older, though, just because I love everything else so much.

HERE IS THE BABY takes young readers through Baby's day, from the waking up to the bright morning sun to snuggling with Mama, Daddy, and Sister before saying goodnight. Colorful illustrations accompany short blocks of text, making this the perfect read aloud for little one's bedtime.
