This book is a fun and easy read and I did enjoy it. I had the audio book version and unfortunately the narrator got on my nerves. I would have preferred to have read it myself and would properly have enjoyed it more, although I don't think it would have made it up to 4* even then. One day I might read it, but I am not in any rush.

This book will always hold a special place in my heart because it was the first romance book I read. After this my love and fascination with romance books was sealed. I guess this isn't too surprising since I was about fifteen.

I don't remember much about the story but I know that I went on to devour all the Malory books by Johanna Lindsey and that I absolutely loved them. I'm just guessing that The Heir was as enjoyable as the Malory series.

The story started off well after a point of time. I couldnt understand the Scottish brogue half the time, and found the sudden proposal a bit daft, especially as Duncan kept harping about how Sabrina is just a friend, for half the book. The book is fun and can be read for Sabrina, but it has lesser substance than I can expect in a JL book.

I LOVED this book! Where to start...From the first time I met Duncan, I was in love! He was such a different hero than Johanna Lindsey's other men. He was sweet but not only that...he was charming! I also LOVED Sabrina. She believed that she wasn't attractive but she radiated from within. She was breath takingly beautiful in Duncan's eyes because of her kindness and courage and her ever giving heart. Once he saw the beauty from within (which was quite early in!) he saw her true beauty. This book also had some angst which I REALLY liked. This book was unbelievably cute and it sure is one I'll be buying.

I love Raphael which become Duncan's best bud but I loathed and I MEAN LOATHED Ophelia who will be his girl in their book. I don't know how Johanna Lindsey will rectify her character but if anyone can do a complete turn around with a character it is my lovely Johanna Lindsey and I have complete faith in her!

The relationship between Sabrina and Ophelia was great! I loved the back and forth and the drama that very accurately represents some female friendships. I really enjoyed the sweetness of Sabrina and her ability to put people at ease with her teasing humor. Duncan was an absolutely adorable hero. An excellent, easy to read love story!

3.5. Mostly it was a good ole Johanna Lindsey historical with silliness and romance, but it just didn't focus on the hero and heroine and their interactions enough. I liked the side characters and thought they added to the story, but there was too much time spent on secondary characters, when I believe it should have been spent on the developing relationship between Sabrina and Duncan. Overall, a fun, lighthearted story!

Something light and fluffy for the End Times, it didn't subvert any expectations and was entirely predictable. I guess what you'd want from this sort of thing.

Not her best, but diverting enough.
