This book isn't all sunshine and roses, it's real, it's gritty and at times can make you want to cry, but that's what makes this real. Luke is a man with serious flaws, that has spent so much time alone he can't let people in. His life has experienced real tragedy and with having no one to be there for him, he thinks that he has to keep everything bottled up and struggle through on his own.
Tessa is a feisty redhead that knows who and what she wants and goes after it. She knows she wants Luke and it's all light and fun until Tessa realizes that Luke will never offer her more. But Luke is Tessa's kryptonite and no matter how hard she tries to get over him, she always finds herself back in his arms. Luke can't give Tessa what she wants, but he can't let her go either.
This book is fantastic. It hooked me from the first page and held on for a thrill of a ride. J. Daniels knows how to write a story that makes you want more, more of the narrative, more of the characters and more emotions than you may want to show in public!!! On to book number 3.

By the time I finished [book:Where I Belong|34371311] I was so ready to dive into Luke and Tessa's story. And boy it didn't disappoint. It was better than the first book in the series, I'll admit. Although there was some serious serious angst all over this baby. Luke and Tessa were perfect for one another but each had their own hang-ups. Especially Luke. Not much about this book frustrated me like the first one did. Except maybe the whole part where Tessa didn't get with anyone the whole year they weren't together, despite her trying to, while Luke had slept around despite wanting Tessa back. I hate that double standard. But overall the book was heartfelt, steamy as hell and had a very strong but vulnerable hero who just had to be willing to open himself up to the woman he loved.

Emotional but easy read. Tessa (FMC) is head over heels for her ex, Luke, and after a whirl wind romance she broke his heart without a word. Now a year later she is trying to get over him and move but he feels her in over and over until he finally breaks her. Luke must accept his flaws to accept Tessa’s love.

This was NOT for me. This is advertised as a complete standalone, but the first 30% seemed to reference things that happened and people from the first book and I was very confused. This heroine spent roughy the first 40% either thinking about, talking about, or having sex. That’s when I really stopped caring about anyone or anything in this book and started skimming. I felt like I needed to finish this book since I got a special edition of it from Hello Lovely. Hello Disappointment, All I Want(ed) was for this torture, excuse me - book, to be over.
