when it comes to nonfiction i usually am more inclined to pick up something on queer and/or pop culture, esp if the author has a distinctive voice — i think for me that’s part of why i didn’t enjoy this as much, since it was co-written and there is the ever-present sort of therapist vibe (?) to the written way the cases are presented. nevertheless, it was still an interesting read, & i greatly admire her work!

Not my usual read, but very fascinating! Quite heavy at times. Helped me gain some perspective, which is always a great thing to learn.

Astonishing. Made me reconsider empathy and the nature of shame, violence and forgiveness. Changed me.
