By far the best book I've read this year. Stunning non-fiction from a forensic psychologist working at Broadmoor hospital. Brings together a combination of true-crime and psychology. A vivid reminder of the importance of mental health services and an inspiring depiction of the human mind's ability to heal in the most dire of circumstances. At turns frightening, harrowing and comforting. An easy 5 stars.

good! there were some parts that were rough to get through which is totally expected, however i do think after the first 2/3 the book dragged. usually it doesn't take me this long to get through a book but i think because the subject matter was quite heavy, i had to take it slow. these cases were great to learn about and as someone who is interested in practicing forensic psychology, it was all very eye opening of how a job like this can weigh someone down yet be the very thing that gives them purpose.
