I would characterize the first half of the book as a ‘beach read’. Nina was an abusive employer. Millie who was desperate for a job just kept apologizing to Nina for unreasonable accusations & expectations. Then the book turned to twists that in many ways made no sense to me. I finished it, but will not be reading the sequel.

I really liked the way the book was structured and everything was set up in a way that made the reveal make sense. A super quick, and engaging read! Things occasionally got a little gritty for me at the end though lol 4.8/5
