cw: death of a sibling

very engaging (listened to the audio on long car rides) and i enjoyed the different perspectives and personalities of all the different characters. not so much a mystery in the sense of a "whodunnit" type but an exploration of all the different individual and collective stories that led up to and past the moment of the tragedy.

It took me a little while to get into this because I didn't so much like the imagined conversations between Minnie and Ky at the beginning of the book, but once I did, I found this very thought-provoking and engrossing. It has a lot to say about how immigrants are treated in majority white countries, so that even though this takes place in Australia, it sounds sadly similar to what happens in the U.S.
