Awesome cover ... story not so much.

Devi's life is a mess. She wasted three years going out with Bryan - blowing off her friends and barely studying. Now that Bryan has broken up with her, she has nothing left. Not even her cell phone. After she drops it in a fountain, it will only call one number. HER humber. At age fourteen, three years ago. Devi can't believe her luck. She can tell her younger self all the right things to do … because she's already done the wrong ones! If freshman Devi takes senior Devi's advice, they can hold on to their friends, get into a good - no, incredible - college, and most importantly, spare themselves the heartbreak of Bryan/ Except younger Devi isn't so sure. She likes Bryan. A lot. But who better to listen to than your future self … right?

The book sounds really cool but there isn't a climax in this book. : ( really, it's just all one flat line. BUT don't let this keep you from reading it, 'cause who knows, this could be your favourite book ever. This is just my opinion .... doesn't have to be yours too.

Gimme A Call is a really good book. The only problem was that it was so confusing. I loved the idea of the story. I liked how it was written but, again, it was confusing.

2 1/2. While reading this book, I alternated between really enjoying it and wanting to throw it across the room. Parts of the plot frustrated me to no end, while other parts had me laughing. This book was very hot and cold for me, with the overall effect being lukewarm.

Devi is heartbroken. Her boyfriend of the past 3.5 years has broken up with her before they both go off to college. She has no other friends left because she spent so much time with Bryan. Now she is wishing she could tell her younger self to do things differently. Then she drops her cell phone in a fountain at the mall. When she tries calling someone to see if her phone still works, she does indeed get her younger self. Interesting things start to happen as older and younger Devi work together to perfect the past and influence the future.

Devi has had a terrible time. She just broke up with her boyfriend of three years, she has no friends, and now she's dropped her phone in the water fountain at the mall. When she tries to dial out after rescuing her phone, she reaches herself. Herself from Freshman year of high school. Devi has the brilliant idea that if she tells Freshman Devi the choices to make, she will never have her heartbroken by Bryan.

I would definitely recommend this book to fans of contemporary novels with a twist. It's fun and heartfelt.

Meh. Dragged on far too long through the middle.

Also, what the f*ck kind of cover is that with a ROTARY TELEPHONE?? Did the marketing people read the back of the damn book? It's about a CELL PHONE. Not to mention that the target audience of this book has no idea what a rotary phone is!

Most people wish they could talk to their younger selves to advise and warn them of things to come. Devora aka Devi, gets that chance when her cell phone goes haywire and somehow allows her to call herself during freshman year. Now that Devora is a wise high school senior, she has devised a plan to get her freshman self to undo all the mistakes of the past...the only problem is, it doesn't go exactly as she imagined.
