The kind of book you don't want to end. Well written and genuinely suspenseful.

The blurb said 'will appeal to fans of Jodie Picoult' and there were some similarities but I felt it lacked Jodie's depth of insight and character. I got a little bored halfway through but it did pick up and was worth a holiday read.

Oh! Oh! OMG!!! This is SUCH a good book! Such a moving story which made me cry at the end. I'm not going to say anything else except - pick this book up and read it!

I really enjoyed this book. It alternates between past and present day which really works to add to the drama of the horrific accident that took place. It is the first thing that I have read of Charity Norman's and I would definitely read more by this author. It's easy to read, and incredibly descriptive. You can read my full review here

The book started strong, and loved the first half, but as I went along, Martha, the mother, started to grate on me. The further I read, the less I liked her. The secrets, the lies.....I just wanted to shake her. Nevertheless, good story, tight plot and worth the read

More like a three and a half stars for me this is one of the books picked for the Richard and Judy Spring 2013 book club, and a good choice. The author uses location beautifully and has definitely made me want to emigrate to New Zealand. The plot alternates between present day and then recounts the events leading up to the horrific accident. This was very effective and gave the story an extra thrill and air of suspense.
