It was a perfect book to listen to.. Narrated by Karen Cass. I listen to a bunch of audiobooks and I think Karen Cass has just become one of my favorite narrators. I like it when somebody can read a book out loud with enough intonation and color for it to be interesting to listen to, but does not overdo it. I loved to listen to her voice.
I thought the book was really really good in its genre. I don't normally get scared listening to or reading books, I will get scared watching a movie. Listening to this book did give me the chills. I was happy with the story line I liked the characters, and I was OK with the ending. The ending just seemed a little unclimactic. That could have been done better, but it was not terrible at all.

The ending of this book was so creepy! I did enjoy the story, but i felt like it dragged a lot in the beginning. It made it harder to get into. Towards the end I was really into it! Overall a good book to read, just not a personal favorite for me!

Disappointingly predictable ending to an overly long book. I might’ve rated 3 stars if it weren’t for the painfully descriptive domestic violence, which was really tough to get through at some parts.

Chilling, dark story about domestic violence. I like the dual narrative of past and present and thought it worked well in context. The OCD was a bit too detailed at times, and I would skip over the repetitive scenes, but it served its purpose, too.
Some scenes were hard to read because of the twisted violence, but overall, it was a good story and told well. You cheer for the narrator and for Stuart. Plus there's a wicked twist toward the end that tied everything together nicely. I'd recommend reading it.

this book moves a little slow in the beginning and it took me a while to go to. it can be very graphic and disturbing at times. the book keeps you reading because you want to know if Lee has found Catherine or if she's just imagining things. at times, Catherine's character (AND HER FRIENDS) are annoying characters. Stuart is sweet, but kind of one-dimensional. A long, but interesting book if you like thrillers

Into the Darkest Corner is a suspense novel, mostly narrating back and forth between Catherine in the past and Cathy in the present. The interesting thing is, although they have vastly different lives and seem like totally different people, they are one and the same. As the book goes along, we see what changed her, a dangerous and manipulative abusive relationship. It sounds like it's kind of Sleeping with the Enemy, but it's really not, it's more psychological, especially dealing with Cathy's untreated OCD, which was ruining her life as much as the man did. Her neighbor was a weird character, not fully fleshed out, inconsistent and perhaps at times a bit of a red herring. Catherine, especially in the beginning, was super annoying and it was also half shocking and half sad to see how quickly her life could be ruined by one person and her friends could side against her. I would give it between three and four stars, but I think I'll round up. Good narration and looking at issues of abusive relationships, PTSD and OCD.
