I really, really enjoyed this trilogy, and I'm glad I read it. I was just. Kind of disappointed by the ending. Which is sad. But you know.

Interesting alternate world, good finale to the trilogy. Although perhaps a bit too neatly tied up.

I really liked this whole series even though some of it was a little far fetched with the children being befriended by Queen Charlotte. Opens up some interesting possibilities. The PR says that the readers of harry Potter will like this. It deosn't have enough magic and too much history for Harry Potter lovers. i'd say if the YA liked the "Golden Compass" series or movie that this series would be more up their alley.

I wish I had read this a little closer to the other two. I had no idea who half of the characters were. That led to me not really getting into the story until about the last third. It wasn't bad, but it was one of those things where I should have done a reread of the original 2 before attacking the third installment.

While this book contains some truly extraordinary ideas and scenes, I found it to be a somewhat disappointing conclusion to an otherwise strong trilogy. Peter and Kate are still stuck in the 18th century, and while the Tar Man is still a major threat to their health and eventual return to the 21st century, it is Lord Luxon who serves as the super-villain this time around.

Buckley-Archer has developed a more sophisticated take on time travel in this installment, exploring both its physical and ethical ramifications.
Luxon's plan to sabotage the Revolutionary War by preventing George Washington's crossing of the Delaware River introduces the idea that changing a single event could significantly alter the course of history. Meanwhile, Kate's particular sensitivity to time travel causes her to suffer grave physical consequences, and there is a somewhat heartbreaking scene late in the book that's not quite a death scene but nearly as sad. I thought this book was a marked tonal shift from the last two; more mature, more epic in scope.

My main issue with the book is the ending, which is rushed and anti-climactic. I'm glad I read this, because I like the characters and wanted to see how it ended, but overall, I left feeling a bit unsatisfied.

3 1\2 stars. The last book in the Time Travelers trilogy. I love this series to bits and the end was very disappointing. Love\hate relationship between me and this book. I love all the characters. Except Lord Luxon. But even he is written brilliantly. The book itself is my least favorite of the series but the ending.... I hate the ending.

Hate it. The rubbish, even though well-written, made me very angry. I question why she chose to write it that way. REAL ending must have gotten lost in editing. Even with the ending, this is still a must read series. The action, timey-wimey time travel, characters, plot, pacing, and writing in general was fantastic. Loved it! Hated the end. But in my head, it all works out.
