Decent mystery with a stupid ending. Basically, the MC reporter catches the murderer(funny that he was called a murderer when he never killed anyone) and then......wait for it...... LETS HIM GO. He just gives him a two hour head start, long enough to ensure the villains escape so that he can do more evildoing. And the MCs reason? “It’s not my job to arrest people”. While that may be true, you could, you know, tell the people who’s job it is to arrest people to arrest him! He basically aids a mastermind criminal, then tells everyone that so-and-so was the “murderer” all along. And he is applauded and made famous worldwide for it! I don’t care how smart he was in unraveling the mess( took him three months, Sherlock could’ve done it in three weeks), he made a stupid decision in letting the crook go.
