I am a huge fan of A.M. Hargrove's! I love her books and I couldn't wait to read For the Love of English when I first heard about it. Not only is the cover beautiful, but the blurb had me as soon as I read it! This book was really cute, and I couldn't get enough of this adorable little girl.

Beckley Bridges might be the hottest guy that Sheridan has ever seen, but he is also the biggest jerk she has ever come across. His daughter English is her favorite student, but Sheridan just can't see how the man she has to deal with on a professional level is the same warm and kind man that would do anything for his daughter. But when English's mother decides to show back up after abandoning her as a baby, Sheridan knows that she will do anything she can to protect English...even if that means agreeing to the crazy proposal she receives from Beck.

I loved Sheridan and English. English was absolutely adorable and you couldn't not love her. She had such a big personality and was so sharp for her age. Sheridan was great with her right from the start and you could tell that she genuinely loved that little girl as more than just a teacher loves a student. I have to admit that it took me awhile to warm up to Beck though. He was a jerk to Sheridan and I really began to question if I would ever like him. But as we got to know him more, you get to see another side to him and I really ended up liking him. He still did things that frustrated me, but he was just one of those guys that didn't always know how to show his feelings. Once I saw that he cared about Sheridan more than you could see at times, you could see how he struggled to act around her. The chemistry between them was there right from the start, but the connection between them was what I really enjoyed watching grow.

Overall, I really enjoyed this one. It was sweet and sexy, and I loved seeing the three of them together. They were so cute together and I loved watching their little family really come together. This one was just adorable, and I didn't want to put it down. Not only do you get enough steam to keep you flipping the pages, but there was emotion and depth that made this book impossible to stop reading. A.M. Hargrove is one of my favorite authors because her stories have it all, and For the Love of English was no exception. I highly recommend checking this book out, as well as Hargrove's other books. I can't wait to see what she writes next, whatever it is I will definitely be reading it!

I enjoyed this book very much. The plot- a young father who will do anything to protect his daughter- is right up my alley. I think my biggest concern was just that it seemed to all happen very quickly and easily. I never quite connected fully with Beck and Sheridan. I did love their relationship with English.

I'm glad I read this and I'm sure there are lots of people who will love this!

Great Read from Beginning to End

I loved this family to pieces. This story was dull of drama, humor and love. I cried so much. I laughed a lot.

The only reason I finished reading this book was that I didn't have anything better to read. While there was nothing outwardly wrong with this book I thought the storyline wasn't sufficiently meaty and the female protagonist got with her love interest without any major issues. The author made their story way too easy even though he was a single father in a custody battle. Also, the female protagonist's use of abusive language was an incredibly lame attempt at making her character seem "cute". This interspersed with the author's decision to call the child "munchkindoodle" every chance she got, got on my nerves. The final nail in the coffin was the fact that the author had her characters dispose of a condom by flushing it down the drain. This, in my mind, is a cardinal sin as it is capable of destroying not just your plumbing but your neighbours' as well. While there are several more problematic plots that authors convey in romance novels and I am on occasion willing to overlook them for the overall story, this was a minor detail I didn't appreciate as it could encourage readers to do the same and lead to adverse consequences.

Again, not as bad a book as my 2 stars might convey and nothing wrong with it on the surface. It just wasn't the best novel under this genre or trope for me.

OMG!!! I think my heart stopped a couple times while reading. You can’t help but fall in love with English from the beginning. That little girl can work her way into anyone’s heart. Beck starts off with being an ass but his tone eventually changes. He’s a father looking to do whatever he can for his daughter, what’s not to love!! Sheridan instantly loves English, and will do what she can to help protect the girl. The one thing Sheridan or Beck don’t count on is how hard and how fast they fall for each other. Together they fight to keep English safe.

Was a good read, just felt the constant time jumps took a bit out of it.
Went from 1 day to 2 weeks later then magically 4 weeks later.

Fake marriage is one of those tropes that always hooks me. I can't say that this book is particularly memorable but I did enjoy it. English was absolutely adorable and I loved that her family allows her to be who she is.
