I adore the Track series. Getting to know each member of the team, and seeing the team grow into a family, is such a reading privilege. I love the role that movement plays in Sunny's story, and I love that he has Aurelia and Coach to encourage him to do what feels right.

Just when I worried I'd get tired of this series, here comes Sunny like a breath of fresh air.
Jason Reynolds completely breaks up the potential monotony with Sunny's unique perspective of the world, strange manner of speaking and special circumstances regarding his family dynamic. The writing style even becomes more dynamic to reflect how different Sunny is from his friends.
If you were going to read any of the books in this series, I'd say Ghost and Sunny are the two most worth it.

I really liked this book. This was a great book, I cried, I smiled, I just loved this book. I like the diary format it made sense for Sunny. I kind of wish I knew what it looked like, since I listened to it via audiobook, but I do have to say Guy Lockard did an amazing job, like really outstanding. He sang or rapped the book and it just gave so much more to it. Maybe because I related to the stream of thought that Sunny expressed. I just loved this book.

It has been a source of great irritation for me that it has taken this long for Sunny to be in our library system. A new Jason Reynolds should be an automatic buy for a library at this point. However, the benefit of the wait is that I have Lu to follow it with immediately, instead of having to wait. This track series is fantastic. To get to know these kids from their own stories and from the stories of others is amazing, and Reynolds does a great job if capturing each voice. I loved the clarity of the noise that Sunny feels, especially against the quiet of his dad. Beautiful book, it's a must-read.

HELLO THERE FELLOW KIDS

We keep going with this series even though it deals (really well) with hard issues like death, drug addiction etc. solely because Reid begs for more “track series” books. This one is told in a more poetic voice and it really works well in audio format. Reid LOVED whenever Sunny said Dear Diary...and I didn’t realize until quite a ways in he didn’t know what a diary was and thought it was a name
