This is a pleasant read, although there are elements that bugged me: Quinn's job is to provide private security, and he allegedly, sort of blackmails, his clients. So how does he still have a business?
The book brushes over Janie's relationship with her father, and I wish that had been properly explored.
The scenes with Janie's friends are really fun, and I've already bought the next book in the series, which I guess says more than any arbitrary star rating.

Cute continuation of Janie and Quinn's story that weaves threads from the rest of the series. I will say that I probably would have preferred to read book 2 before this one despite it's categorization as 1.5. There are a lot of spoilers for book 2 in here.

Just as wonderful as Neanderthal Meets Human...I think I could read endless stories about Janie and Quinn. The introduction of Quinn's family was wonderful and made for some touching moments.

Abandoned at 50-ish%

Pure fluff and I didn't care the characters enough to continue.

I felt like Janie's 'voice' in this book was very different from the first story (Which I loved!) I still enjoyed it, but not as much as the first in this series.

The Kindle edition that I purchased included Neanderthal Meets Human and this sequel. So even though I really was unimpressed with the first book, I continued on to read the sequel. And it was even worse than the first book.

Quinn proposes in the first couple of chapters - which we knew he was going to do based on how the previous book ended. Except, as the book describes, his original proposal plans were "getting her drunk before proposing. This wasn’t ideal, but I’d been prepared to do what was necessary to secure a yes." So impressed with you buddy. Instead, he decides to tie her up to a torture rack and put the ring on her finger when she protests that she isn't ready before letting her go. So so romantic.

That wasn't the worst. The worst was when Janie goes off to Las Vegas for her bachelorette party and she and her girlfriends accidentally become intoxicated with methanol and hashish. !!! That alone is concerning, but *thankfully* they are rescued by Quinn and his noble men, who describe how hard it is not to keep their hands off of these intoxicated women. And one of them, in the goodness of his penis, er, I mean heart, actually legally MARRIES one of them with a fade to the bedroom scene, but it's okay because he's been in love with her since childhood.

The side story about Quinn's family was quite sweet and I'd rather marry them than Quinn, but I can't get over the romanticization of rape culture throughout this book.
