Thank you for the ARC in exchange for an honest review!!
This is book 2 of the series, and this is a whole new world! Literally! Draven saved Morgan at the end of book 1 but we never truly know how he did it until the end of book 2. All we know for the majority of this book is that he took her back to his home, where he was previously banished from. In order to help Morgan go back and fight against Arthur, Draven has to get an army behind him and the only way to get an army is to become King. However.. the only way to become king, is to complete trials presented by the Queen Regent, his step mother.
There is so much that happens in this book. Morgan doesn't trust Draven 100%, and every time she finds herself trusting him just a little bit more, he does something to break that trust. There is a couple scenes that get incredibly spicy and they become so close, that their relationship is just perfect! I do think that there are some parts where Morgan still denying their relationship is almost childish. She just kept saying that she hated him but then a week later she is all over him, granted he does some stupid things and hides too many details.. I just don't think Morgan's anger came off as anger, it was more tantrum-like.
The end of this book, at the end of the trials, I don't even know how to react.. we finally find out how exactly Draven saved Morgan at the end of book 1... which is so shocking and surprising that I don't know where this is going to go from here... and then there is the epilogue!! WHAT!! I did not see that coming!!
Can't wait for book 3!

Solid sequel to the first book. I’m leaving out a start due to the FMC’s attitude! She’d be fine one minute and then fly off the handle the next. I’m tired of the “sassy, but actually very disrespectful for no reason girl boss” type characters. I feel like a lot of the women characters are written this way and it’s just frustrating.

My favorite part of sequels is when they pick up right where you left off at the end of book 1. You are so heavily invested and immersed that starting in a different time can sometimes be jarring or remove you from the immersion. Well Court of Claws picks up right where you left off.
Morgan and Draven are in his court and Morgan now has to pretend to be Draven's paramour. (Anything with a semblance of fake dating will automatically get me hooked!) There is a lot Draven needs to explain and answer to but the two have lots of other things on their plates. I really enjoyed that the author has continued to keep pacing so well through the second installment and getting to see the relationship between the two main characters throughout this one is even better than in the first book.
You definitely don't want to miss this one! Thank you thank you to NetGalley and Briar Boleyn for letting me read the second book in this series.

Wow. This book was even better than the first one.
I actually felt more connected to Draven and Morgan in this book. They seemed to fit better together as the story unfolded. Their chemistry was undeniable.
In this one we also find out where Draven actually came from and it was close to what I was thinking as well as an unexpected twist when it came to Morgan.
We are introduced to a new cast of characters that I really enjoyed meeting. Crescent, Osessa, Beks and even Lyrastra. They became more people Morgan could trust and she really needed them.
I don't want to give away any spoilers but the ending left me wanting more and I seriously hope the 3rd book is not too far off.
I want to say thank you to netgalley and Briar Boleyn for the book and I am leaving this review voluntarily.
