I'm not a big fan of self help books so this is really bias. I don't like self help books because it's full of capitalist ideology and I'm not interested in that lifestyle. I was recommended this book so I said why not. One big thing I disliked is the left brain vs right brain, I know this was written in 1989 so it can not be taken out but that myth is false. There's no such thing. I like some of the habits but I'll incorporate it in my life in a way.

Reading self-help sucks. It’s enlightening and broadening , but oh, I wish it would be over soon.   Like ascending a ladder, I find it to be equally entertaining and taxing; each step is fascinating in and of itself, but the ladder itself is not.

 My favorite quotation is:
Some day, in the years to come, you will be wrestling with the great temptation, or trembling under the great sorrow of your life. But the real struggle is here, now … Now it is being decided whether, in the day of your supreme sorrow or temptation, you shall miserably fail or gloriously conquer. Character cannot be made except by a steady, long continued process.

- Phillips Brooks

Just a little remark. There isn't a single inspirational statement from a woman in the entire book, though.

Tried the audiobook, after trying the physical copy. Changed speeds on the audiobook, changed settings listening, tried everything. Cant get past the author’s constant religious inserts. The content is available without wading through all of it.

I'm giving up at 30% and this has officially become my first DNF. I've put down some books for later for not being the right time. I can't say the same with this one. This is more like a "I don't wanna see you again ever" kind of book.

Amazon kept recommending me this damn book for some reason, always the first on the list. It felt like someone trying to sell me Herbalife. This is not for me, hell no.
