This was my favorite book when I was in my „I‘m not like other girls“ phase. Reading it again now, I can totally see why. It has some meaningful bits and pieces for a young audience, but overall it is a bit sloppily written, taking into account that the main character is not a young child, and comes off as quite pretentious at times.
Still, I think three stars are fair for the nostalgic value and because I do think teenagers might get something out of it that I now don‘t see anymore.

The writing in this book was absolutely amazing. It is everything I hope for when I imagine rich, descriptive, yet haunting language that I could just sink into. I thought it wandered slightly into "need a boyfriend to save the world" territory, but really just toed the line. I thought the ending was satisfying, and I appreciated a new perspective on some old favorite poems.

Thank you, Ava Dellaira. This book is my relationship with my sister twisted up, drenched with tears, and spit back out.

This audio book is killing me.

I just can't concentrate or remember the plot, audio books are so not for me!

I might find an e-copy of this book in future but for now I'm leaving it aside

I enjoyed it very much! I think I would've enjoyed it more if the back of the book (after the acknowledgments, which had nothing to do with the book) hadn't ruined what was going to happen. So heads up, do not flip to the back of the book and read the book without knowing nothing! I wish I had :( but nonetheless, it was great!
