This was just okay. It was too short for the story it was trying to tell. We never got a resolution of Spencer fitting in with Quinn’s friends or what their relationship looks like in public.

It was a short but sweet story, it would have been interesting seeing more about Quinn's friends and how they'll handle his relationship. It was good reading about how they started and how they managed to know each other, and all thanks to Spencer who mustered his courage to try again after their first encounter.

Super cute and fluffy! Just the right length for this kind of fluff too.

Loved this opposites attract romance

Thought it was time to read this sort of intro into the Four Kings world.

It's a fabulous opposites attract romance which has a really sweet organic relationship build up between Spencer and his injured SWAT team neighbour Quinn.

Loved seeing how their relationship, as they're already together in the later books, began

Sweet short romance, occasionally laugh out loud funny and entertaining.

Short well paced humourous read - sweet as Quinn's mum's tres leches cake!
Spencer is the geeky neighbour - suitably awkward, kind.
Quinn is the big SWAT guy - grumpy gus, oblivious.
Waistlines will go with Quinn's mum's cooking. Javier is a jerk, but there is always at least one in a work group.
An entertaining 3.75*

5.8.19 reread : importance of family and good friends (Javier not in that category, thank you!) abound in this short, humourous tale.

Quinn is a grumpy SWAT officer on leave due to a work injury, Spencer is his adorable neighbor who likes him… they get off on the wrong foot, gradually become friends who hang out, watch movies, eat together and fantasize about each other.

Maybe the novel was too short and the characters couldn’t be developed but I’ve read a lot of Cochet’s work and she is a brilliant storyteller so maybe, it is me that can’t see the sweetness of this novel.

A sweet little novella from my favourite "big strong man must protect smaller man" trope author.

The book is very quick in its turn around but it is an absolute delight. Quinn shows incredible restraint and ignorance of one character whom I would have thrown into fast moving traffic very early on in the book.

I'm always an fan of the short stories for characters that have brief cameos in the larger projects.

SWAT is dangerous

Quinn is hurt on the job as SWAT. He meets Spencer while recuperating. This book by Charlie Crochet proves love is a grand thing!
