The Exterminators Daughter by Meg Cabot ⭐️
The Corsage by Lauren Myracle ⭐️
Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper by Kim Harrison ⭐️⭐️
Kiss and Tell by Michele Jaffe ⭐️⭐️⭐️
Hell on Earth by Stephenie Meyer ⭐️
If I read this when it came out a decade ago I might have enjoyed it a little more, but I was also 22 then not 32. I think I bought this at a thrift store and originally picked it up because of Stephenie Meyers name on the cover and how obsessed I was with Twilight at the time. Glad to get it off my TBR and to the donation pile it goes

I read it probably because of SM but I remember nothing.

I only read the Kim Harrison story. Madison Avery from her YA series, is going to the Prom. Her life is turned upside down when she discovers she is a pity date. The one that rides in to her rescue is not anything she can imagine.
Fun, quick, a definite read for series fans.

This review is broken down into a separate review for each story in the book.
The Exterminator’s Daughter - Meg Cabot
4.5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
This isn’t my first Meg Cabot story and I’m sure it won’t be my last since her writing is timeless, (in my opinion anyway)
I quite enjoyed this short little story of a young slayer accidentally finding love while trying to free her mother… honestly if it was a full length story I wouldn’t complain at all.
The Corsage - Lauren Myracle
4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
I’ve never read the original story of “The Monkey’s Paw” however i have seen various depictions of it elsewhere and its never failed to freak me out at least a little. This very short story was no different, Lauren Myracle wrote a good story with equal parts scary to equal parts doomed romance.
Madison Avery and the Dim Reaper - Kim Harrison
4.5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Really disappointed that this was only a short story since it had such potential to be more! so many questions unanswered. Other than that I gave it 4.5 stars because I liked the characters, the plot direction and the premise of the storyline.
Kiss and Tell - Michele Jaffe
4 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Very interesting mystery romance concept here left me with many questions !!! Shame that it was only a short story (even though I think it may have been the longest in the book so far)
Hell on Earth - Stephenie Meyer
4.5 Stars ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️
Yup this story had Meyer written all over it. I would love to have read this as a full story it had such potential (as with all the stories in this collection) the slight world building left me intrigued and the character and chaos was truly enjoyable.

It's not a bad book, but it's not great either. But certainly good for those days you just want to lay down and rest.

This morning I walked into the reading café in my hometown. It's a wonderful place where you can get books for free, as long as you tell everyone about this place and what it does. Especially when they want to get rid of their book collection. On the shelf with English books I found this one and although I normally never read short stories, I was curious to read those.
It's a good thing that I haven't paid for the book, as I'm slightly disappointed right now. The stories weren't that good. Most of them were rushed and lacked a decent background to work with. It felt as if the writers hadn't really thought about their worlds, hadn't looked further than what they had to write down.
I also wasn't really capable of connecting with any of the characters, but I didn't hate or dislike them either. I guess that's because they lacked background and personality. I know that it's hard to build your entire world, mythology and characters well in a short story, but I also know that this is not how it's done.
Well, at least I finished the book rather quickly and I brought three other books from the amazing place in Venray too, so hopefully those are better!

A group of teen chick lit’s greatest writers come together for this altogether unique and interesting collection of short stories—not about perfect, normal proms, oh no, but ones that have been interrupted by, shall we say, the paranormal.
A vampire exterminator rushes to save her friend from her enemy’s evil clutches. A magic corsage delivers wishes gone wrong to a group of friends. A girl is killed by the grim reaper at her prom, which also happens to be her seventeenth birthday. Two very special girls with clashing personalities must stick together to outwit the people who are after them. And angels and demons show up at one school’s prom.
The five stories in this collection delight fans of books such as TWILIGHT—whose author, by the way, is one of the contributors to this short story collection. All the stories are interesting, amusing, and leave you wanting more.

What a terrible book! I love girly stories that involve things like prom and I love horror/supernatural stories... but this book was just bad. Most of the stories read like the first chapter or two of a book that they just didn't bother to end. Truly awful. This book really wasn't worth the time.
