My Rating: ❤️❤️

General Thoughts: I didn't look at reviews before going into this one. I rarely do. I wish I had on this one. It looked so cute. The cover, the blurb, and it seemed like it was going to be a fun romcom. What I got was a lot of drama. A LOT of drama! I had a hard time relating to the characters, I had a hard time seeing any chemistry or romance between them, and I had a hard time with the plot. I wanted to like this one. It had a lot of elements that I liked, but this one didn't click for me.

I listened to the audio, so I can't comment on the writing from that perspective. But there were some parts that didn't seem quite right, even on audio. Some telling instead of showing. Some quick switching back and forth. Some juvenile parts. I wanted a contemporary romance; this was not that. I wanted to see a relationship and romance flourish between the characters. I didn't see that. I wouldn't classify this as a romance.

Also, too much "not like other girls" for me. It was overdone here. Lot of potential here but I don't think it was executed well.

Then that ending--everything happened so fast. It didn't feel fleshed out. Disappointing.

I wouldn't recommend this one. I always admire anybody who is brave enough to put a novel out there, but this one wasn't for me.

I started reading it and had to finish not even halfway through. It was okay at first but it just too repetitive and childish and needed to stop. I gave it a try but definitely would not recommend it because there are so many more amazing books out there.

You know that giddy, kick your feet, squealing feeling you get from a romance book?  Yea, not this book.

This book felt like disaster, after disaster, after disaster. There was never a moment of peace. I felt like the plot was so heavy that I never got a chance to connect or understand the characters.

The actual romance of the novel felt like a back burner plot with 3 other steady plots happening instead. I feel like with a few edits this book could have been a fairly good fiction, but definitely not a romance.

The cover looked cute but that was the only cute or nice thing about the book. The characters were not likable neither was the plot romanticized enough for a chick-lit light read.

if you want a romance book where all the men (including the love interest) are misogynistic and selfish this is for you lmao the only good part of this book is Jose (the FMC’s son), he’s cute and funny

So disappointed, I was expecting something cute and romantic, buy it wasn’t that at all. There was not one single likable character and the MC spent more time hurting each other than liking each other, there was for sure no perfect date at all!
