Honestly I don't have much to say about this collection. It was decently written, had some good poems, nothing to write home about

This was a good collection exploring the othering that happens to a person with chronic medical issues/a person who spent a lot of their childhood and adulthood in hospitals.

It was at its best when the poet was being direct. Those poems hit the hardest and offered the most food for thought. Unfortunately most of this collection comprised of poems that relied heavily on symbolism and metaphor that did not click with me until about third of the way through the collection. I understand that poetry can be a bit dense, but I do not like having to work to understand what the poet is trying to say; the extra effort should be in analysis, not trying to understand the base level of what the poet is trying to say.
Still, the more direct poems hit hard enough for me to keep this at a three star rating. I'm definitely in the minority here, but I still recommend others read it even though it didn't blow my mind. I'm sure others would love this more than me.
