So cute. I loved reading about these cousins' adventures and escapades, and I loved how the 'clan' was. Little Rose is the nicest little thing, but Uncle Alex, I think, is fantastic.
His cures are the sort all kids should have, if possible.

Charmingly old-fashioned and pleasant. Angst-free.
I liked it but when I reached the middle, I become a tad bored. It felt preachy and some of the situations were milked for emotion. Rose was a bit too perfect, her imperfections incredibly miniscule. The roles assigned to women and men felt stifling, even though Uncle Alex was quite enlightened for his time.

A little on the didactic side, as is the sequel, but still one I reread every few years.

It's always strange to reread a book from childhood as an adult. It wasn't exactly how I remembered it, but I could still hear Grandma reading it to me.

This is one of Louisa's many lesser known but still amazing books. I advise everyone to read past little women!
