New to this author and was not disappointed. Intriguing storyline that draws you and hooks you. Multiple storylines, between hunter/grace, hunter/father, hunter/business associate, so it definitely makes you continue on to find out what happens next. Gotta love those boys with accents. Can't wait to read the rest of the series. *arc received from publisher via Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.

Thankfully this book got better but it ends with a wicked cliffhanger. So of course I now have to read the next book because I need to know what happens!!!

This isn't a review, not really at least. I wasn't supposed to read in November, I know, but I LIED TO YOU ALL! I couldn't resist. I lasted about two weeks without reading and then requested this book on Netgalley and before I even knew what was happening; I was 60% done with this book. I have no idea how that happened. It just did. Anyway, this wasn't the best book I've ever read, to be honest. At first, I was really enjoying it, and I feel like that might be because I was book-deprived, once I got over my book-crave, I started seeing all the flaws this book had.

The main thing that bothered me was the story line. I feel like it was kind of unoriginal. I felt like I had seen it before, you know, the boring girl starts working for a big company, the rich-as-fuck Owner of the company is a sex god with major commitment issues, but oh-so-surprisingly, he takes an interest in the new awkward girl that works for him. I mean, we've all seen that one before. So, yeah, the story in itself wasn't very original. I WILL say though that the Japanese man, I'm sorry I don't remember his name, added a touch of mystery to the story. I wanted to know what the deal with that guy was. That helped the book a bit. Another thing I really liked was the fact that THERE WERE NO OFFICIAL SIDE-BITCH in this book. THAT, people, made me really happy. All throughout the book I was waiting for the side-bitch-whatsyourname-is-mine-and-we're-made-for-each-other, and when I realized I was 90% done with the book and there still wasn't an actual side-bitch, I wanted to literally scream in victory. Finally, an Erotic Romance that doesn't need any sort of side-bitch to be kind of enjoyable. If it didn't have at least these two things, I'd probably have rated it lower. To me, the originality of the premise is quite important, and unfortunately, aside from these two things it wasn't really original or different.

One thing I'm quite confused about is the main female protagonist, Grace. I'm confused on whether I liked her or not. Here's the deal: She's extremely naive, awkward, clumsy, and very inexperienced with men, blah blah blah. You know the drift. HOWEVER, what I liked about her was the fact that she KNEW all of that. She wasn't the heroine who's all of that but pretend to be someone else. She was all of these things and was very upfront about it. She knows she's naive. She knows she's awkward and clumsy. Somehow, she didn't piss me off as much as she should have BECAUSE she wasn't putting her head in the sand and pretending to be someone she's not. It just made it easier for me to deal with the fact that she's the most naive character I've ever read about.

As for Jonathan... I don't have much to say about him actually. He's like the other men. Nothing quite different about him. I don't really care for him. Which surprises me, because I usually like that kind of man, whether they're different or not, but somehow, Jonathan didn't do it for me.

This book was REALLY insta-love-ish. At least on the girl's part. I don't enjoy insta-love. She was basically obsessed with the guy from day one, and I didn't understand why. To me, Jonathan had nothing interesting about him, so I had a hard time dealing with her insta-love because I didn't understand it.

In all honesty, I DNF this book at 93%. You're probably thinking that's stupid as fuck because I only had 7% to go and I'd be done. However, at precisely 93% something happens and I kinda lost all interest in this story. I felt like Grace made a decision based on a stupid (sorry but those are my true feelings) guy, and that she didn't respect herself. I don't mind weak heroines. But I DO mind heroines that don't respect themselves. In other words, they do stuff they usually wouldn't do because the guy would want them to do it and not because THEY want to do it. That's what I personally call a heroine that doesn't respect herself.

Anyway, those were my thoughts on this book. I won't be continuing the book nor will I continue on with the series. The writing style felt very Fifty-Shades-of-Grey-ish to me, it was easy to read and a quick read, but for me, that's all it was. I'd consider this an "ok" or a "meh" read.

What the hell was this? It's marked as erotic romance but there was nothing erotic about it. The only likeable character was pushed to the way way back as an after thought. I get that we are supposed to be all concerned about poor innocent naive Grace but she got herself in to some bad situations all on her own despite warnings from people. There was nothing likeable about Jonathan and honestly, most of the story didn't even go anywhere. We get hints of potential plot but no real development. It also ends on a cliffhanger which isn't even enough this time to get me to continue on in the series. A big old bag of nope here.

Not for me...At all. Erotic romance not my type of book but I'll allow you the opportunity to make your own judgement. The main character, Grace, is a young intern working for Huntington Ventures. From the moment the plane lands in England, she screws up: she wrongly perceives Jonathan Huntington, the billionaire owner and founder of the company, as her ride to her future workplace. This was a good start, it was humourous.

But afterwards, I just didn't buy it: at the company she meets a bubbly, cheerful junior assistant who warns her about Jonathan. But, it doesn't matter much anyway, it's not as if she's directly working for him....That's until she does. An intern is randomly given the opportunity to be an assistant of the Company's founder. That doesn't just happen...And I understand the confusion of everyone else but why do they not voice their concerns? Grace is told that Jonathan is dangerous, but then why doesn't anyone prevent him from working with a young woman- from her naivety, it's safe to assume that she must be a young girl. I couldn't stand the story. After skipping so many pages, I just gave up. I lost interest quickly.

I'm not a fan of alpha males brooding on vulnerable women. And then, having the young women think they can change the guy. Really, it seemed like a contemporary version of Beauty and the Beast. I never did find out why the man was so dangerous, and right now I can't care less. Just not the book for me...

I received this book through NetGalley.

I hesitate to put this book in the “erotica” category as I found it rather mild and not very boundary-pushing. That said, I could tell from about the 20% mark that this was the first in a series, so perhaps things will spice up in the subsequent books. Unfortunately, the reason I could tell this was part of a series was because things took So. Darn. Long to get started – the real meat of the narrative didn’t begin until after the 60% mark. But what came after was intriguing and I’m eager to learn more.

Grace is a young intern working for a large investment company in London. Upon arrival at the airport, she stumbles upon her boss, Jonathan Huntington, and mistakenly believes he is there to pick her up in person. As you can probably tell from that sentence, Grace is a little too naive for my tastes (though she does show Jonathan that she has a spine of steel!) and I hope she will mature and develop in the next installment(s) into someone I can truly root for.

As for Jonathan, I can’t really say much about him. I don’t like or dislike him yet. Grace hasn’t penetrated through his shell to discover whatever characteristics might be hiding underneath. He’s a billionaire CEO of his own company and is accordingly quite aloof and used to getting what (and who) he wants. I look forward to seeing more of his “Hunter” persona.

Overall: a decent first installment. The narrative pacing needs tightening and the main characters need to be developed further, but this was an enjoyable read that laid a good foundation for the next installment(s). I’m left with lots of questions that I look forward to seeing pan out in the next book(s). I am also excited to see more of the fun cast of secondary characters, especially Jonathan’s sister and business partner!

the main character is pretty much just annoying.
i don't recommend the (german) audiobook, i find the narrator makes everything just worse.
