Not a fan of the narrator. Or of Tiggy. Or of Lucia (narrator’s tone and timbre for her put me off even more!!!) Some things did not make sense (why not pursue the weird door further???) and I suppose that for me personally there’s just too much of a discrepancy between Scotland and Spain.

Lucia was zoooooo unlikable. Doe normaal. Hoe kwam Chilly in Schotland? Echt no sense is whatsoever.

En die deur in de kelder? Waarom is Ma so sleezy.

Despite dit alles moet ik de serie wel afmaken nu. Luistert lekker weg.

This book was good, though maybe my least favorite of the series. And I think the only reason I say that is because it's really starting to grate on me that every single sister has to fall in love in order for her story to be complete, and this one felt more forced than most. Otherwise, it was fascinating to learn about gypsy culture in Spain and abroad, a more human (or I guess non-combatant) picture of the Spanish Civil War, and flamenco in general. It was a neat contrast between the hot climates of the gypsies in the past and the cold climate of Tiggy's place of employment in the Scottish Highlands, but somehow she fits in everywhere. Her affinity for animals and special abilities are a little woo woo for my taste, but I guess they worked in the context of the story.

Really, this is such a fun, well-researched, wide-ranging series with heart, and I'll be so sad when I get to the end. I'm a little nervous about the next book, because of all the sisters I've never like Electra, so it will be interesting to see where that goes. What I'm really anticipating is book 7, because I'm sure Riley has planned something unexpected and perfect around the missing 7th sister, and I can't wait to see what it is. I feel like Zed Eszu's creepy appearance in Tiggy's life is hinting at something... but what?!

The fine print: received ARC from Edelweiss.

Book Review ⭐️⭐️⭐️

Im flying through this series
I just finished the 5th book of the seven sisters series and have mixed feelings about it. The story of the past did not exactly interest me. I loved Tiggy.I loved everything about her, her love for animals and nature, her commitment to other people, her inner strength and her virtues.

I loved Tiggy’s story. Gypsies and Spain and a wild life estate. Great story. Her ancestors were entertaining.

Tiggy has found her place working on a scottish estate looking after the animals when she meets Chilly, the old gypsy who lives on the estate. There begins her journey to discover her roots and herself taking her to Spain. As she learns of her family, her health becomes a concern so she returns to her home, to allow Ma to help her recover. Another of Pa Salts secrets is discovered as we try to determine what he did and why he adopted his Pleiades sisters!
