I was super excited about this book: the idea was great and the portraits were just beautiful and unique.
Unfortunately, I felt the stories were quite deceiving: story development is poor and incomplete, many sentences lack context and thus many reactions of the women seem to be quite impetuous (when it's not the case).

Per la libreria Waterstones qui a Londra è il libro dell'anno 2017, io l'ho ricevuto come regalo di Natale e ne sono stata molto felice.
Lo definirei un libro da consultazione, anche se purtroppo per ogni donna non ci sono molti approfondimenti ma solo degli spunti. Ho apprezzato le bellissime immagini e soprattutto l'intento, spero un giorno di poterlo leggere ai miei figli.

Le doy las cuatro estrellas porque no le puedo demasiados defectos. Es un libro diferente y muy necesario, de tener un hermano pequeño o un hijo se lo leería. La verdad es que no conocía a la gran mayoría de las mujeres y eso me entristece, pues la sociedad se ha empeñado en borrarnos de la historia. Tiene pequeñas biografías con una ilustración de cada mujer. Me ha faltado algo más de contenido biográfico, y algunas mujeres, como las piratas, me sobraban, pues fueron criminales.

This was a fantastic glimpse into the lives of influential women in history. It is definitely geared toward middle grade readers. I needed to read a biography-type book for a reading challenge, but didn't want to read something heavy or long. This fit the category and also made me aware of some women who I had never heard of before.

Everybody should read this book once. It opens your eyes to all the great things that can be done with determination and not letting anyone say you can not!
