It was okay

I like the idea of the book, but the word choices really confused me. I'm guessing it is based in today's time, but the word choices and fashion styles for the galla made the story hard to follow and kept taking me our of the story.

A modern day retelling of Cinderella.

After her mother and father have died Cindy is left with her horrible step mother and sisters. When Cindy’s father died he left her trust and house to her step mother, but when Cindy turns 22 she can legally access what is hers. The trouble is there might not be much left, her step mother has turned her ancestral home into a bed & breakfast. With funds dwindling, Cindy’s step grandfather arranges, a marriage between Cindy’s stepmother and crime boss Nico.
Nico is in a notorious crime boss, who can’t stand the idea of being married to the evil stepmother, while some of his business is legitimate,The Board of Directors want him to clean up his playboy image and being married will do that.
When his desires to have Cindy, throw a wrench in the plans to marry the stepmother, Nico finds a way around that .

This book was great, I didn’t want to put it down always wondering what was coming next. While Nico might have been crude and unapologetic about who he is, his need to be around Cindy and his desire for her was unmatched.
He is obsessive, possessive, protective, and overbearing.
Loved everything about him.
Cindy appears weak in the beginning but she learns just how strong and amazing she is.

Okay this book had me squealing, the smut was spicy and I love fairy tale retellings so much, and even though the plot line is pretty basic and the characters are pretty stereotypical: for example the morally gray man and the sunshine good girl character who he ruins I still enjoyed the writing

There was one part when they called her daddy and it just made me cringe so hard, but I did end up loving the book and it’s characters a lot, so I can’t really say anything about it

I wouldn’t say that it’s the best written book I’ve read because I did die of cringe at most parts but god the smut was freaking amazing and the plot wasn’t the worst either so that’s why I rated it 3.5 stars

This was a dark Cinderella retelling that I really enjoyed. I loved the main characters on the most part. The FMC was innocent, good and being treated terribly by her step-mother and step-siblings. The MMC needs an arranged marriage and is set up with the widowed step-mother. He is in the mafia and also has a company where the board wants him to get married to put his womanizing ways behind him. This is an enemies to lovers, forced proximity romance.
I founds parts of this book slightly repetitive. The FMC cleaned out the ashes of the stove so much I felt like screaming, "yes! I know this is a cinderella retelling, I get it!" 3stars is a good rating from me and I do recommend this book.

"You're so fucking good, and I want to taint it until your soul is as dark and smudged as mine. Would you let me, Cinders? Would you let me smudge your soul the way your face is from all the ash you clean? Can I dirty you on the inside?"

Excuse me while I go fan myself.

This is not your normal Cinderella story, with a clean cut happy ending. This is a happy ending that digs through the trenches and comes out with a mind darker than the evil step-mother. When an arranged marriage between Nico(A bad guy trying to turn legitimate) and Yvette(Evil step-mother) begins the original plans fail. All due to one interaction Nico has with Cindy. The stepdaughter few like all because of her innocence. But her innocence is what attracts this bachelor. What started out as a bachelor looking to corrupt an innocent soul and a woman just trying to keep her family home, turns into something neither of them expected. In the end the question is will it be enough to get them through everything that happens to them?

This had the mother of all plot twists. NEVER saw it coming! I was thinking the book was almost over then noticed I had pages left and thought " wait a dang minute" THEN BOOM. Plot Twist 2.0!
I gave this a good 4.5 stars and rounded up to 5. I really only had one issue when something happens to a side character and we never hear about what happens to them. It bugged me not knowing. But it was a great take on the Cinderella retelling. I recommend reading the prequel before diving in.

18+ ; Mature Content ; Dark Romance
