Fun and quick listen. Light on plot heavy on smut. The MMC is kinda slimy with the way he handled the work situation

Wow, this was hot stuff. I don't read much on the erotic side of romance, but this felt well-written for romance in general. The sex scenes were varied and never got boring. This could have felt cliched, but it didn't. I could have used a little more to the romance, but that's just personal preference. It was clear that these two characters grew to care about and respect one another, although a lot of their relationship development was told through sex, rather than talking. This ends on a huge cliffhanger for the next book, which kind of annoys me, but hey, I guess she's managed to convince me I need the next book.

Although this book took a couple of chapters to such me in, by the 4th chapter I was engrossed. I read book 0.5, It Takes Two, but didn’t know what to expect with this. I think it took a few chapters because it was quite a bit different from that previous novella, which threw me off.
While this story is very steamy, it also has a lot of heart. The relationship between Evie and the MMC is kind of sweet, which seems odd after how it starts. (I decided to not use the MMC’s name because I find it a little bit spoiler-ish.) They even start off as being exclusive but not really in a “relationship” because of something in the MMC’s past, but they’re so good together even he quickly starts calling Evie his girlfriend. They give each other something in the bedroom they didn’t even fully realize they wanted or needed. Especially Evie. The MMC seems to have more experience in fulfilling these desires, but he’s very patient with Evie and always goes by her cues.
The problem these two have is no surprise. The way they worked through it was different than I had expected, though. I love when characters can work through things in a mature way. Evie needs time and distance, but once her emotions are wrung out of her she starts looking at things more clearly and understands why things happened the way they did. And the MMC, for his part, steps up and finds a solution that puts his love for Evie over his ego.
While I wouldn’t say this book ends on a true cliffhanger since the relationship is resolved and in a good place. But it ends with a bit of a mystery about Evie’s best friend Payton, whose story is told in the next book. So while the novella will not add anything to this story for you, you may want to be prepared with the next book ready to go if you decide to read this one.

I was looking for something steamy and sexy and this definitely delivered. It was cliche at times but it was still really fun to read. It ended on a cliff hanger which is a very effective way to keep reading the series because I just had to know what happened next.

This was such a fun and steamy read! I loved that Logan wasn’t the typical “damaged” male main character that we often see in this genre. Often times this genre has some giant miscommunication trope that pisses me off near the end of the book, and I appreciated that while Logan and Evie had their trials, they handled it like rational adults. I enjoyed Evie and Logan’s characters a lot, and really liked how Evie approached things when they had disagreements. 100% this was super unrealistic overall, but it was super fun for me
