This book is Pat fictionalized memoir and part non-fiction information about where our garbage goes and exactly how much waste we all create. Good reminder that all the packaging we get on our food and products is the largest contributor to our trash content. Want to learn about the history of landfills and Hours little recycling really does? Also brought me back to when I was looking for blue collar jobs and what was available. I have a cushy white collar job now, but you should never think yourself too good for a blue collar job. They are WORK.
This is the first I’ve read from Backderf, I will probably read miss from him.

Good read, some disgusting parts (garbage collection is like that), very informative as to the scale of our disposable society problem...

A masterpiece of not only comic book art, reminding me a bit of Crumb, but of social, political, and environmental activism (any reviews below 4 are probably from those Upper Middle Class losers who either throw away that much garbage or profit from it on some level and are a bit triggered). As a shirt by Magee indicates: it's only class war when we fight back, and the only thing uglier than the actual trash depicted herein are the characters from the 20%. It's as powerful an indictment of our culture as books like Green is the New Red, exposing a great many lies about how our society really operates.

An excellent graphic novel that is filled with personal anecdotes and scientific fact about the business of trash and how we deal with waste.
Funny, gross, and informative, Trashed is also a well-crafted work of art that gets it drive from masterful storytelling.

Surprisingly informative as well as absolutely disgusting! If the stats he quotes in this book re: amount of garbage created hold true, we are going to be completely screwed in a couple decades. Hell, maybe earlier.
