While I did love the book, it kinda felt a touch anti-climatic where William's curse was concerned. After all of these books and all of the mention of his curse and how it was used to explain his man whore ways (Which I've always hated. Hence why I was ecstatic when it turned out Gillian was NOT his fated mate. I'd have been hella pissed had he been managing to fuck around after meeting his true mate, that's not how it's supposed to work!) It felt like it was 'broken' a bit to easily for my taste. Still, a great book and a great match. I love Sunny and think she's perfect for William.

Loved reading this book again, of these two and dealing with his curse, it was so good, and I can't wait to continue on!

Fantastic book! Loved William and Sunny's story! I'm wondering if this is the official end of the LotU series, where we continue in the world in a new series, or not. Since the overarching plotline with the 4 objects and or the Morning Star hasn't finished yet and it's been so long, I don't remember quite all of the details. But neither William or Sunny have demon, so I don't know. Can't wait to find out!

I had my concerns about William’s story after Gillian and Puck got together. Now, I’m glad that things worked out the way they did.
Sunny is a wonderful character. She’s a freaking Unicorn shifter! And she goes head to head with William, taking none of his bs. The self proclaimed “panty melter” found the woman that could melt his pants and keep him dazed and confused.
I loved the story. I loved Sunny and William’s ridiculousness. It was a fun read and a lot of the questions William had about himself were kind of resolved.
IMHO this wasn’t the best book of the series, but it’s up there in the top five.

I think I knew in my heart of hearts I wouldn't enjoy this as much as I've enjoyed other books in this series. I've put it off for so long. I wasn't as pressed as some "fans" seem to be that William and Gilly didn't end up together. That ship never did sail for me truly. And Sunny and William together were fun as heck. But something didn't click for me. It just wasn't it. Not all the way, the way I needed William's story to be.

Love to see that William finally got his happy ending and I must say that I love Sunny’s quirky personality.

I throughly enjoyed this read. I know there are a lot of people out there who have feelings in regards to William and Gillian, but here’s the thing, Gillian’s had her book. Gillian is happy with the turn of events. William is happy with Gillian’s turn of events. Not every true love has to be a romantic love, Gillian and William will always have an especially close bond because they grew up together in many ways and I appreciate that Gena gave them that.
With this book, first and foremost, I Loved William...of course I did! He’s the William the Ever Randy that we have grown to love over a dozen books, but in those 12+ books he has done what any great character should do, grow and develop, he’s still a bad arse, still cocky as ever, still a flirt, but he’s also found a sweet side that just endears him to the reader on another level. Secondly, I LOVED Sunny. Don’t tell me a unicorn shifter can’t be a F’n bad arse! Sunny has a heart of gold and a take no shite attitude and that is exactly the person Will needed! He needed someone who didn’t mold herself to be what he needed, as Gillian would have ultimately done if they had been together, he needed and deserved someone who knew exactly who she was and how to take what she needs! Sunny is the Bomb!
I loved their push and pull, though I will say Gena cut that off at just the right time because much longer with the back and forth in emotions and I may have thrown the book out of frustration, luckily she knew when to reel it in and save the drama. I loved their romantic moments, sweet at times and totally passionate at others. Like getting that look at William the Ever Randy, yeah baby!

I believe this is the lowest rated book I’ve ever reviewed which saddens me to know end because I have been a fan of LOTU for over a decade and I really wanted to love William’s story.
Showalter failed to deliver in so many ways and her editorial staff is certainly not blameless. I put off reading this book despite having purchased it as soon as it was released because I really wanted to savor it. Imagine my disappointment when the first chapters are riddled with so many grammatical errors that it pulled me out of the fantasy.
Even looking past the poor editing the book feels as if Showalter didn’t actually want to write it. Unlike her other novels everything about this one felt forced. Sure the unicorn thing is a weird one and the dialog is always a bit cringy but the weird spin on mythical creatures and the cliché lines always held a sort of charm that I came to love with the series.
Showalter has always delivered nice twists and good battle scene and the sex was never too out of place despite there always being a lot of it. None of these things were in this book. Everything was predictable and far more cliché than could be considered ‘charming’. Half the time I felt like I was readying a bullet point outline of a first draft not the final project.
William’s and Sunny’s characteristics seemed to bounce back and forth (and I don’t mean like the duality that is mentioned) like Showalter couldn’t decide how she wanted them to act. Sure the blueprint for every book is the same: each one wants the other they don’t want to admit it conflict conflict conflict but this was so much worse.
The battle scenes were skipped over half the time and the ones that weren’t honestly needed a bit more flushing out and the ending was very bland.
I really wish I had something good to say about this book but I can’t find it. Will I stop reading the series? No. Do I still love LOTU? Yes. Am I upset with Showalter? No, I’m worried she might be growing bored of the series though and if that’s the case I’m terrified to read her next novel.

I really really enjoyed this book. Sunny is one of my favorite characters in this series, and I loved seeing into William’s head. I smiled my way through most of this book.
