Sort of like 'From the New World,' the manga is superior to the anime. Someday, maybe the light novels for both will be translated over here.

Shion lives in a Utopian society where everything seems perfect, yet he's not content and is already starting to wonder about things when Rat stumbles into his room on a stormy night. This single act sends his life in a downward spiral, forcing him to leave everything behind. Mix in a bit of mystery concerning life sucking bees and you have the beginnings of an interesting tale to discover the secret behind No.6.
I originally watched the anime first, but only got a chance to see a few episodes due to Hulu not posting the rest. This first volume reads exactly like the anime (with the exception of Rat's name actually being translated to Rat) and does a good job showing you how curious and innocent Shion is at the beginning. In reading the manga now, I found myself again curious about Rat and his back story and his relationship with Shion. Plus the bees are an interesting sub plot and I'm very curious to see how the patented 'anime mind fuck' will play out in this one. Once I'm done with the manga, I'll probably go back and finish watching the anime.

There was no way I wasn't going to enjoy this. I love the anime, and this is basically the first 3 episodes. I can't wait to read the rest!

The creepy city, creepy residents, and just plain creepiness of it all drew me in! I loved the first volume and totally get why people are raving about this one. Excited to read more!

No.6 has been in my top 5 favourite animes since I watched it a couple years ago, and I'm finally getting around to reading the manga! So far I love it just as much as the anime, and the art is absolutely beautiful! High hopes, I know it won't disappoint

I picked up this volume on a whim because the cover piqued my interest. I went in knowing absolutely nothing, and I have to say I was blown away! The characters, the art style, the dystopian world-building, I love it all already. I will definitely be continuing the series.

I took a gamble in buying the first volume of this series without really knowing anything about it. I ended up really enjoying this first volume. At first, I thought it might be meant for a younger audience, but it actually ended up being a lot more mature than that. It kind of gave me a Hunger Games/The Giver vibe. I'd really like to continue with this series!
