I love King's style and cold character design - that saved the book for me.
The first instalment had me hooked with the settings, the characters and the sheer vulgarity of it all. This book could be a standalone title. As of right now I do not understand why I needed to read 550 pages in what could have been told in 250.
I hope the next title "Dead" picks up the pace.

Absolutely phenomenal read! Haven't read The Drawing Of The Three since my teen years and it was like reading it for the first time. Don't you just love when a book consumes you? Stephen King has always pushed the boundaries of fiction, fantasy and horror but the Dark Tower series is a serious work of art. I recommend these books to anyone who loves fantasy with no borders, as King really creates a whole new realm with characters you can't help but love and vivid settings in both worlds. Roland, the last gunslinger, draws his three in this book, as predicted by the man in black in the first of the series, The Gunslinger. From shoot outs to "lobstrosities" there is never a dull moment in this tale. As soon as you are finished I guarantee you'll reach for the next installment!
5 out of 5 stars for sure !

I love the dry dark humour in this book. There’s lots going on once this one gets going on! One of my faves for sure
