cleo's so meann
but i kinda love her, she really does think everything circles around her
this book was chaotic
frankie's name was cleared
cleo backstabbed
cleo turned a good friend again
cleo's backstabbing never revealed
I like melody, she's taken a little bit of a backseat but I still like her
I don't know why they arent making a bigger deal of the show airing
arent some of their identities revealed
anyhow, this is how I'm staying sane

This book was just as good as the first Monster High. In this book, the RADs try another approach to coming out. I think that this was a good sequel and is worth reading a third book. Lisi is very creative with her situations. These books do seem to borrow a little bit from The Clique, but not so much that it's like OMG deja vu! I like that these books put a twist on the whole fitting-in thing.
In this book, the RADs decide to make a movie about themselves (with complete identity-secrecy). Of course Bekka attempts to destroy it in revenge for her ex-boyfriend Brett, but this time she has a new helper: Cleo. This book had a great semi-cliffhanger at the end, so buy yourself a copy of the third book!

I only bought this book to get me up to free shipping on Amazon. I read it because I'd read (and kind of hated) the first book, but love the other incarnations of Monster High, so I felt that I had to read it.
I knocked it out in two and a half hours. I'm not sure what makes The Ghoul Next Door better than the first book in the series (Ghoulia? Yes. Possibly.) but maybe it has something to do with the author knocking down her brand-dropping considerably and upping the supporting cast. While Blue, Lala, and Clawdeen are still fairly interchangeable at this point (there's a scene where a bit of dialogue isn't attributed to anyone, and on it's own it's very difficult to figure out which of the three said it. In context, it's still a toss up between Blue and Clawdeen for a minute.) at least they're entertaining. I wish the Aussie slang would taper off a little because it's less cute and more annoying, even if I tell myself it's Blue playing up the stereotype in addition to the three getting more to do.
Cleo also probably helps push the book to bigger and better heights. She's interesting and flawed and not the villain she is in the other incarnations of the franchise.
If you didn't like the first book but still like the idea of MH, give this one a whirl. (Bonus points are given for Bekka getting hers.)
