The level of story and character development even in the comics continues to amaze me. It’s everything I wanted and more, but never had access to. I’ve missed having new content about these characters for a good ten plus years and I’m just soaking every second of it.
This installment was no less amazing. Even if I had any criticism, they’d simply be lost in the happiness I feel from reading about this world.

But one thing that struck me, as an ATLA and LOK lover, was how Aang also manages to hurt his relationship with the past avatars. Although unknowingly of its consequences, he /chose/ to break off his connection with Roku. Yet, he was still able to connect with Avatar Yangchen’s spirit through the ritual. It means there’s hope even after the cycle restarts with Korra. I’m sure the writers will use it as an opportunity to expand on the world and do something cool, or at least, satisfying with it.716a_m's review against another edition

The comics are just that much sweeter, because they expand the world/story so much. It's nostalgic, quality storytelling. If you enjoyed the original show, please read the comics. They are SO GOOD.
The Promise was good, but The Search is even better, although more heart wrenching.
I hate that a certain duo of characters in the comics call each other pet names

The avatar universe is so good. Every story they have is so good. It sucks you into the universe with out even thinking about it.

The artwork in this book is simply fantastic! The story is also moving along quite nicely!

NOOOOOO NOT THE CABBAGES!!!
A little bit slow, but it was nice to get a backstory for Yangchen’s Festival and to see more Past Avatars that we didn’t show up in the show.
