I’ve had a grade five student repeatedly request this one for our school library- but it just sounded too bizarre! I finally relented, and I really enjoyed it! The cat is hilarious, and I really liked the story of Raj at his camp. Some great vocabulary in this one, humour, life lessons, and some added cool illustrations.
Good pick for grade 3-5, especially reluctant readers who love some added pictures in a chapter book.

If you've ever wondered why cats seem like their from another planet, this hilarious novel puts forth one theory - they actually are descended from an alien feline race.

Our titular hero finds himself banished to Earth as punishment for a failed coup attempt on his home planet, Lytterbox. He's immediately adopted middle schooler Raj Bannerjee, who's family has recently moved across the country. To help him make friends, Raj's mom signs him up for a wilderness survivial camp run by a lunatic who goes by Turkey Vulture. While Klawde is plotting his return to Lytterbox, Raj is trying to survive the bullies ridiculous rules of camp. Once Raj figures out that Klawde is no ordinary cat, maybe they can both work together to achieve their goals.

This was a lot of fun and I'm glad my 4th grader recommended it. It's also an Illinois Bluestem Award nominee this year.

First in a series. Klawde has come to Earth from outer space and he is bitter about it. He wants to train neighborhood kittens as his soldiers and become a warlord again. This is a cute, quick read with lots of humor in it. I borrowed the book from the school library.

We listened to the audiobook on a car trip. Voice actors were very good.
