This book was ok. That's about the extent of how I felt about it. It had all the right fantasy elements, but for some reason, it just never really came together for me. I feel like that's probably just my experience, and I think plenty of other people will like this book just fine; there's nothing really WRONG with this book. I just didn't feel drawn in by the characters.

Absolutely loved it. The pacing is perfect and cannot wait to start book two.

Kevin J. Is one of my favorite authors but he went grim dark here. It doesn't suit him.

This book would be good for those who liked Tad Williams' Memory, Sorrow, And Thorn.

Great Star To a series.

The only negative thing I have to say is that I NEED to read the next book(s) in the series. Excellent story, well told. Various levels of magic, dragons, intrigues, political plots, interesting characters. Somewhat reminiscent of Game of Thrones in its scope and complexity. A great ride.

This book is amazing, it's the first I read by this author and it swept me away.
The plot, the great world building and the character development are brilliant. This is a page turner that I wasn't able to put down and it kept me hooked till the last page.
I look forward to reading the next installment in this series.
Highly recommended!
Many thanks to the publisher and Edelweiss for this ARC, all opinions are mine

This book had good writing which is one reason I decided to finish. I struggled to read through some of this because I found some of the characters rather unlikable in any way. I am not sure I would be willing to read the next in the series now or I could just skim over the parts I don't like I did with this book. This is between a two and three stars for me.

If your really missing Game of Thrones and you're not to hung up on plot and characters this is the book for you. The world building is there, but the connection to characters wasn't for me.
