I've always loved monsters. This could have been my favorite book is a kid. And I would've been jealous, wanting to be Julia. Great story; fun art.

I loved that Julia is strong, but not bash-you-over-the-head strong. She's just smart and looks for good ways to solve her problems. She talks things out and figures things out.
Great artwork and a fun story!

Sweet, endearing and quirky story about all the unusual creatures who show up when Julia posts a sign outside her house welcoming lost creatures. The layout of the text and illustrations will pull kids in and encourage them to linger over each page.

Very cute, love the illustrations. This was a great story about taking care of others. What made it really special was that our main character is not a doormat. When things get out of hand she has her wild house guests take responsibility and pitch in to keep the household running.

A charming picture book about a lonely little girl who decides to house lost creatures from far and wide. The story is very cute, and the illustrations are as well, actually aiding the telling and the enjoyment of the story, rather than hindering them, as I've encountered far too often. Additionally, it is easily just as enjoyable for an older reader as for a child.
I especially liked the ghosties and the small gnome-like creatures that were 80% beard.
