It took me forever to get into this book and finish it. I was really disappointed with the way the Blair/Nate/Serena triangle was done, it felt lazy after reading the series, and it seemed like Blair was more of a tag-along than someone who Nate would actually want to date. To me it felt like throughout the book it was Serena that he loved and he defaulted to Blair. It was just a long book that lead to a disappointing ending.

I actually loved seeing how Serena fell for Nate and how everything was before she went to boarding school and returned to a "whole new world".

I cared about this slightly less than the others. POSSIBLY because I read 12 books in like a week and a half. Possibly because I didn't really feel like I needed all the details of like, where Nate got that sweater he always wears.

The Gossip Girl series has always been a guilty pleasure read for me. Full of petty drama and gossip, it can be on the trashier side with some storylines / plots.
The prequel has never been a favorite of mine, I feel like it tries to hard.

I am not sure if its the writing style or the fact that I am use to the characters from the show, who are SO different to the ones in this book.... or more likely the combination of the two! I did try to get into it, I made it to page 92 but I just couldn't continue....

Quote from book:
"He rolled onto his back and wriggled like Serena's long-dead golden retriever, Guppy..." ummmmmm NO! Come to think of it, it IS the writing style AND the fact that I cant picture Nate from the TV show ever doing/looking like this!!

Sadly I bought the first 8 books in the series and now I have a pile of books I am unsure what to do with....

I read this book on my flight back from Malaysia mainly because I was feeling very air sick and wanted something to take my mind off my sickness. This book worked like a charm except, not for the reason you'd think.

It was bad. No, really. It was bad . It seemed to me like a glamorous vomit of brands. The characters were shallow, impossible to relate to and unlikeable, the plot was thin and uninteresting and the writing was mediocre at best.

What a waste of money.
